This weekend, Acura unveiled the latest addition to its line of high-performance Integras and Type S versions, the Acura Integra Type S, at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. With a class-leading 320 horsepower from its high-revving four-cylinder engine, this turbocharged Integra Type S promises a new generation of drivers the best in street performance. The vehicle also boasts powerful Brembo® front brakes, lightweight 19-inch wheels, and high-performance summer tires, making it a thrilling ride for car enthusiasts.
The Acura Integra Type S features a broad body, dynamic triple exhaust outlets, massive front air intakes, and a rear diffuser to display its exceptional performance capabilities. "The new Acura Integra Type S puts turbocharged Type S performance and design at the gateway to our brand," said Emile Korkor, Assistant Vice President Acura National Sales. This newest model expands on the success of Integra, which was named the 2023 North American Car of the Year.
The 2024 Acura Integra Type S comes in a versatile 5-door liftback body style, making it the only premium performance small vehicle available in this design. The fenders on this new Integra Type S are 2.8 inches wider than on a regular Integra, and the car rides on larger 19-inch rims with 265/30 R19 tires for a more powerful and imposing appearance. The vehicle's design sets it apart from other sports cars, making it a standout choice for drivers looking for both performance and style.
The Integra Type S can be customized with Genuine Acura Accessories, such as a carbon fiber rear lip spoiler, carbon fiber mirror caps, copper metallic finished 19-inch wheels, and a titanium shift knob inspired by the Integra Type R. There are seven exterior colors to choose from, including the Type S-only Tiger Eye Pearl, and three interior colors (Red, Black, and Orchid).
The Integra Type S's 2.0-liter VTEC® engine is direct-injected, DOHC, and turbocharged for maximum performance. Its throttle tune makes for a rapid response, and the engine's total output of 320 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque makes it one of the most powerful vehicles in its class. The Type S's power-to-weight ratio of 10.1 pounds per horsepower is the best in its class.
The sports car also features a short-throw 6-speed manual transmission with an automatic rev-matching system, making it an immersive driving experience. The standard helical limited-slip differential (LSD) does a great job of transmitting the engine's considerable output to the road, and the innovative dual-axis front suspension setup and wider track make the Integra Type S more planted to the road.
