The Alpine A110 R Le Mans is a special edition of the French sports car that celebrates the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, one of the world's most prestigious and challenging endurance races. Alpine has a long and successful history at Le Mans, having won the overall title in 1978 with the Alpine-Renault A442B and competing in various categories over the decades. The brand is also preparing to unveil a new LMDh Hypercar entry at this year's event, which will compete for the top honors against other manufacturers like Audi, Porsche, Toyota, and Peugeot.
The Alpine A110 R Le Mans is based on the A110 R, which is the most extreme and track-focused version of the A110 range. The A110 R features a carbon-fiber bodywork that reduces the weight by 34 kg compared to the standard A110 and a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 300 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels, allowing the car to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 177 mph. The Alpine A110 R also has a stiffer and lower suspension, a larger rear wing, a titanium exhaust system, and Brembo brakes.
The A110 R Le Mans adds some exclusive features, making it even more special and desirable. The car is painted white with blue accents, including a double stripe that runs along the body, matching end plates on the wing, and piping on the carbon-fiber wheels. The blue color is a tribute to the French racing heritage and the Alpine Elf Endurance Team that competes in the World Endurance Championship. The car also has a small fin on the rear decklid that resembles the central fin of the Alpine A480 race car that will debut at Le Mans this year. The car also has Le Mans logos on the front spoilers, side sills, headrests, and a laser-engraved Circuit de la Sarthe outline on the sun visor. Each car also has a numbered plaque that indicates its limited production of 100 units.
