If you want a full-size pickup truck that combines luxury, performance and a touch of Texas history, check out the Toyota Tundra 1794 Limited Edition. Toyota unveiled this special edition truck at the State Fair of Texas, and it is designed to appeal to the cowboy spirit with a lavish leather interior, a lift kit, and a set of custom accessories. Here are some of the features and details that make this truck stand out from the crowd.
Leather Everywhere
The most striking feature of the Toyota Tundra 1794 Limited Edition is the amount of leather covering almost every cabin surface. Toyota collaborated with the Saddleback Leather Company, a Texas-based leather goods maker, to create an exclusive ultra-premium leather for the truck. The leather is flawless, smooth, and rich in color, and it adorns the seats, the lower part of the dash, the doors, and the center armrest. The seats also feature a unique stitching pattern and an embossed 1794 Limited Edition logo.
The pickup truck also has matching leather accessories from Saddleback Leather, including an overnight bag, a tool roll, an owner's manual case, a key glove, and a small pouch. These items have the same 1794 Limited Edition embossing that matches the truck's production number. The truck is limited to only 1,500 units, so each is a collector's item.
One of the most distinctive elements of the leather interior are the seatback saddle bags that serve as storage pockets. They have functional flaps and buckles that add to the cowboy flair. They are also reminiscent of the saddlebags used on horses in the old days.
The truck's name is a tribute to the history of the JLC Ranch, where the Toyota plant in San Antonio is located. The ranch was founded in 1794 by Juan Ignacio de Casanova, a Spanish colonist who received a land grant from the King of Spain. The ranch was later acquired by James L. Calvert in 1853, becoming one of the largest cattle ranches in Texas. The Calvert family still owns the ranch today, covering about 2,600 acres of land.
